Our system is disarmed and is not tied into any smoke detectors in the home. We only have motion and door/window sensors. Just had two back to back false fire alarms. I wasn’t even sure how to get the alarm to stop since the system wasn’t armed. I armed / disarmed and it shut off.
Then about 30 seconds later it happened again.
Does the IQ Panel 4 have a smoke alarm “listener” built in? Our previous system had one that called the fire department to our home twice on false alarms, and I need to disable that functionality if it’s in place.
I called Surety and the system never sent an alert to them. The alarm.com app doesn’t show a fire alarm in the history. I’m confused what set this thing off.
Appreciate any help… I’m nervous to leave the house in case it goes off again and they dispatch the fire department!
I just did a test on the smoke alarm and it didn’t do anything on the panel.
Now that I think about it, maybe the panel wasn’t alarming at all… I was in such a fog getting woke up from a nap. I’m wondering if the smokes went off, stopped alarming and then went off a second time. Not a Surety/IQ Panel issue, but what on earth would cause them.
The first time, they went off for 30 seconds … then about a 45 second pause and they went off for 20 seconds again.

With no smoke or heat detectors connected to your system, the only way to trigger a fire alarm is by the panic buttons on the panel screen.
If your home smoke detectors were sounding, those would be unrelated to the alarm panel.

If you have an alarm on the IQ panel, you will see a red screen with the keypad for input. It will show “Alarm” on screen.
From your description, there was no alarm on the IQ Panel.
For false alarms from your unconnected smoke detectors, common general smoke detector false alarm hazards are described in the guide below, which apply broadly.
