IQ PANEL 4 caméra rules

Hi.

It is mentioned that The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 can leverage the panel camera to capture video clips using event-triggered recording rules. Recording rules are created using the Alarm.com website.

I wanted to know in what contexts the camera can start recording? What are the triggers? I thought the only time the camera integrated into the control panel could record video was only in case of an alarm?

Also :

Can you tell me when the camera might be recording? If I walked past the panel when it was DISHARMED, could I have been recorded? (There are motion sensors in the house). The owner it with Telus in Canada.

Thanks!

Not just by walking by the panel when the system is disarmed. The panel camera is not always recording, it requires a specific event to trigger.

The rule types made available are based on what is enrolled on the system. Options include:

  • Alarm
  • System Armed/Disarmed
  • System Reports Entry Delay
  • Sensor reports Open/Closed

Thanks for that.

But for the « Sensor reports Open/Closed », Does that mean we could create a rule that tells the panel camera to record a clip if a motion sensor detects movement, even if the system is disarmed? That’s My main concern…

I want to know if I could have been filmed while the system was disarmed and there was no alarm or any manipulation with the panel.

Thanks!

Specifically for DW Open Close, not motion trigger.

You can confirm by checking the rule in Alarm.com and the videos saved in Alarm.com

So it’s possible to create a rules that ask the panel camera to record when the front door opens EVEN IF the system is disharmed?

And it’s NOT possible to create a rule that ask the panel camera to record when an Motion sensor detects someone movement if the system is disharmed?

That’s it?

Thanks

Yes, your plan needs to have video devices available and you need to add the Panels cameras as a video device on your account. You can then create the rule to record when a sensor opens.

The panels camera cannot record from movement detected on the panels camera.

But can it record if a movement is detected by another motion detector?

Like is it possible to create a rule that makes the panel camera record a clip if a Motion detector sensor detects some movement?

Thanks!

I just tried it and it actually only lets me with a door/window sensor and not a motion sensor.

Okay thank you, Quick reply!!

But for the door/window sensor, it’s possible to ask the panel camera to record Even if the system is off? I mean not armed?

Thanks a lot!

It should look like the picture below. You can have it run at certain times or at all times.

When the system is armed, the panel can be set to record when an alarm occurs.

Okay But can the panel still record when the door opens even if the system is not active? (Disarmed)?

Thanks

A recording rule can be created to trigger a recording from panel camera based on DW contact activity (open or close) regardless of arming status.

It can also be set to record when an alarm is triggered.
