In the IQ Installer app (in my case connected to an IQ 4 panel) - where can I find the screen to configure Zwave associations? Also, where can I find the ability to submit/change Zwave parameters to devices?
I tried good 'ol Google and even went through all the screens in the IQ installer and can’t find it. Does it exist?
Thank you
PS: The reason this even came up is I have a TON of custom parameters I need to submit, and standing in my hallway hand-keying them on the IQ4 is ‘uncomfortable’. At present I have over 130 custom parameters that I track in a word doc to keep my sanity. Currently am keying about 15 more. Probably about 20+ associations in total.
You should be able to configure these using the IQ Installer app.
Once you’ve connected to the system, open the config page by tapping the 2nd icon from the left on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. From there, navigate to Installation > Devices > Automation Devices and tap on the device you want to edit or tap the + icon to add a new device.
Thanks for the reply. I can add/remove z-wave devices without issue via IQ Installer… I was having a different challenge. Sorry I didn’t explain that better. Here’s exact detail of what I’m talking about:
Once you have a z-wave device(s) added, and you need to do one of the two following things:
1) Send a custom parameter to the device - like you would do in the IQ 4 in this menu:
Advanced Settings, [Dealer Code], Z-Wave Device list, <select a device by pressing its “INFO” button>, Scroll Down to “Command_Class_configuration_v4” and press the gear icon. On that screen you can enter/send parameters to the device.
2) Establish an association between 2 or more Z-Wave Devices. Like you would do here in the IQ 4:
Advanced Settings, [Dealer Code], Installation, Devices, Z-Wave Devices, View/Edit Associations
Scroll to the source device, press “View”
Click the pencil icon the the particular group name (such as Main Button BASIC SET)
Scroll to the destination device and check it off, Click Save.
Is there a way to do either of those two actions in IQ Installer app?
Neither of those are available in the IQ Installer app at this time. Those must be done from the panel directly. I have made a request to Qolsys to have these features included in a future update but would not have an ETA on if/when this would be available.
Thanks Tyler.
Side question - if I had an IQ Pro or IQ NS, would that mean there is no way to setup associations or parameters? Or does the Pro / NS have another way to do that? (Since with the Pro & NS there is no touchscreen panel)
