IQ Hardwire Takeover zones all show “open”

I had a dormant and unused DSC 5010/5020 Panel that I wanted to install an IQ Takeover to use along with an IQ Panel 4.

I knew that I had 1 existing, compromised hardwired door sensor where a wire had been cut during a door/frame installation and was never repaired. I planned on replacing the cut sensor during this new install/takeover.

I went through the install wizard for the IQ Panel 4 and installed ADC Doorbell Cam, (2) ADC Cameras & Thermostats, and Ecolink Garage Door controller.

I also, prior to wiring in any power or zones or mounting the panel, installed the IQ Takeover with the IQ Panel 4.

I mounted and wired the Takeover and the Panel recognizes it.

The issue I am having is that all 8 zones are showing “OPEN”/”OK”.

I expected it to show 7 Zones “CLOSED” and only 1 Zone “OPEN”, at least until I repaired the cut hardwired door sensor.

I started this process 3 weeks ago, so I am fuzzy on everything since it has been a lot of information to take in during this installation for a newb like me.

This home is over 20 years old and I don’t know if EOL resistors were used initially with the existing sensors. I know that I didn’t use or install any because I thought that I had seen/read somewhere that said that this installation could be done with or without them.

I’ve included a photo showing the DSC Panel wires and the IQ Takeover wires.

I did not use the old keypad wires or telephone wires.

Please advise.

Looking at your system configuration, the sensors are all currently set to follow your global input setting, which is currently set to End of Line.

Residential locations typically don’t have EOL resisors on burglary sensors, so you will want to change the setting to Normally Closed.

To do so, navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Enter Installer or Dealer Code > Installation > Installer Settings/Dealer Settings (depending on which code you used) > Global Input Mode. Change the input mode to Normally Closed.

Thank you.
