IQ Flood Detector not showing on website or app?

I just added a Qolsys QS5536-840 IQ Flood Detector to my system. It’s showing up on the panel, in both the list of sensors and in the sensor test, but I don’t see it anywhere in the app or alarm.com website.

Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place, but I assumed it would be listed under Settings > Manage Devices but all I see there sections for detectors (smoke, and co) and security (all of my other window/door, motion, etc. sensors).

That said, if I go to the Activity section, and open the Filter option, under Features I see Water, and when I open that up I see the sensor listed with the correct custom name I assigned on the panel. So, does that mean it’s working?

Is it not supposed to show up alongside all of my other devices?

In Alarm.com, sensors programmed as auxiliary water sensors won’t be visible in the sensor activity list or the manage devices page, they only show up if you have a plan that supports automation and the water management feature.

This is because flood sensors aren’t eligible for sensor activity monitoring, and Alarm.com siloed their visibility into that water management feature.

I can confirm that I see the new water sensor in your sensor list programmed into your panel 5/13/2026, visible on our end, so alarm events from that zone would be sent by the panel.

Thanks. So with my current alarm-only plan, if the water sensor activates, will I get an app notification or just a local notification on the panel itself?

If local-only, what would be the minimum plan necessary for app notifications?

Or is there a way to change the sensor type to trigger an alarm with my current plan?

You would already get a notification due to how it is programmed. That zone type if tripped is an environmental alarm event. It is covered by the alarm event notification if you have selected “Any Sensor” as the trigger.

If you have chosen specific sensors under that Alarm notification you can add that sensor, it will show up in that list.

Visit the Notifications page and edit the Alarm event notification to view options.

Perfect, that should be all I need. Thanks again.
