Alarm.com has the capability through smartaway to interrupt thermostat schedules when armed away or on GEO. Can a request be made to alarm.com to also have a feature whereby selected light schedules can be paused while the alarm is armed in an away state similar to the smartaway feature? This would be an energy saving feature to not have selected interior light schedules run when the homeowner is not home.
This is a good idea, and we have requested that Alarm.com add arming status as a condition for light automation rules and schedules on a few occasions, there is an open request ticket for this feature.
If you don’t mind we typically forward these requests verbatim to ADC so they can see how many users are requesting it and why.
I don’t mind at all if that were forwarded. I think it would be a significant energy saving enhancement.
