A few minutes ago one of my Interlogix SDX-135Z initiated a fire command on my qolsys main panel and the panel started chirping every 5 seconds. I took the cover off and it looks like there are no batteries to replace as everything is self-contained. To stop the chirping, I removed the smoke from the panel. There is a date on the back of the sensor that says 8/11/2018, I don’t know if this is the manufacture date or the eol date.
What was the name of the smoke detector in programming?
Sometimes there is also a label on the side of the device where the installer can write out the install date, is there one there? Do you know how long you have had the device installed for?
Those have a sealed battery with about a 10-year life span both on the battery and the unit as a whole.
What color is the smoke’s LED, how many flashes and chirps does it emit? There are a variety of trouble states that can be identified by the color/flash and chirp patterns.
It was Sunroom Smoke. I removed it from the system because it would not stop chirping. No, there isn’t anything written on it, nor there is any light on the front. Another one of my smokes is doing the same thing after I updated the firmware on my IQ panel. The main panel is chirping and it says [Smoke Name] FIRE and when I go to the messages area it says [Smoke Name] Failure.
The SDX has a ring that lights up around the center sensing chamber. This LED lights up to indicate a variety of statuses and will light up Green, Amber, and/or Red. Does this not light up at all when powered on?
Normal operation is 1 Green Blink every 30 seconds.
How many seconds between sensor chirps? Was it one chirp or two chirps at a time?
