Hello - I am doing a home remodel and the building inspector is requiring interconnected smoke alarms in our house. How do we accomplish this with Surety’s system? It cannot be a new problem. Already have surety smoke / CO alarms in all required places (bedrooms, hallways, utility room, every floor, etc.)
What model of smoke detectors do you have on site?
Wireless RF smoke detectors that we sell are not interconnected. Interconnected smoke detector circuits are typically AC powered detectors that connect to a house line voltage circuit. They are required by code for newer built homes.
If they are required due to the remodeling work, I would recommend reaching out to the building inspector to verify if it is a wired interconnected AC circuit that is needed. I would guess so.
We do not sell any smoke detectors like that, ours are all independent activation and battery powered.
You can monitor a full interconnected smoke detector circuit with a single firefighter sensor here.
This is what I do. I had a remodel and they required interconnected smoke detectors. So I just bought them from Home Depot, then bought this item Jason linked to and stuck it right next to one of my smoke detectors.
