The error you receive is on the Lutron app when you are adding the devices? Or are you having issues having them appear on the alarm.com app? Are you able to control the devices on the Lutron app? I believe when adding them they should appear automatically on the alarm.com app.

I am not seeing any additional steps after linking them together to add them to alarm.com. I believe they should be added automatically.
Can you try power cycling your phone and your HomeWorks device? To confirm, the firmware on it is 5.1.0 or above correct?
I would try calling Lutron technical support to see if they have any additional troubleshooting steps.
