Installing MyQ Chamberlain Internet Gateway

I’m trying to register my new MyQ chamberlain internet gateway. The light on it is solid green. I did have to open forward ports on my firewall to allow it to go from blinking green to solid green. However now when I try to register it is still not finding it. Any other ideas? Is there any other way to test and make sure all the traffic that is necessary is making it out? Also is there a distance limit to where this needs to be in relation to the garage door opener itself?

Thanks!

In order to better understand the issue, I’m going to need a little bit more information

-Are you getting an error message when you are registering the serial number with Alarm.com?
-At what point is the process failing?
-What is the Model number of the internet gateway?

When I put in the serial number I get the following message on the page. (This is from the alarm.com page)

There was an error while registering your LiftMaster MyQ Gateway. Please ensure that you have entered the correct serial number and then contact us for assistance.

Model number is: CIGBU/C

It’s been on all day while i’ve been at work and I just checked it again and the light is solid green but no luck on adding it to alarm.com.

Most likely issue is a typo in the serial number itself. Double check the SN you are typing in. It should be 10 digits, I believe. It looks like the serial number you referenced with our customer service team has 11 digits.

You got me on that one. I did have an extra digit. So I was able to finally add it last night but now i’m getting the following errors on it. Not sure how to remedy this?

Looks like the garage door is showing a malfunction and status updates are not removing it.

How far is the CIGBU from the Garage? Are you using the CIGBU with MyQ enabled wall buttons?

Can you verify that the wall control is currently functioning and the overhead is powered?
Has this malfunction been there since learning in the device or was it more recent?

I do not see this MyQ reporting any status changes, although up until very recently I see a prior Linear Z-wave unit reporting changes. It looks like it was very recently removed. Can you verify that the control button wires were not loosened/damaged during any work that was done?

I have the CIGBU only about 15 feet from the garage right now. Yes the overhead is powered and the opener is working (just tested it). So originally I had a Linear Iris garage door opener that powered my dummy unit that was previously in the garage. I have since removed it but I paired the CIGBU while the iris unit was still paired to the unit so I don’t know if that caused any issues?

The malfunction has been showing up from the very get go, would it be good to start from scratch and have you guys remove it and I’ll re-pair it and see if that clears it up?

Yes, probably good to re-install. I’ve sent a command to remove the door. Please log out of Alarm.com and log back in to verify it is now removed. You can then re-add.

That did the trick! Thanks!
