Installing 2gig SMKT8 Smoke Detectors

Installing 2gig SMKT8 smoke/heat detectors. I’m attempting to secure to an existing junction box in the ceiling, but the size of the SMKT8 doesn’t cover the single-gang box completely. Is there an adapter ring that is offered to bridge the gap between the sensor diameter and what is require to fully cover the box?

I myself have never known of anything like only thing I can think of that would most likely cover that would be the 2gig interconnected device that monitors ur existing smoke detector

Charlie is correct there is no physical adapter I know of like that. The SMKT8 is a wireless unit and not suited to replace house line voltage smokes. It is not designed to be installed over a gang box.

If you have line voltage devices there are a couple options.

First there is the FF345 2GIG Firefighter is a wireless unit that listens for audio from your interconnected smoke detectors.

The 2GIG Smoke Ring that Charlie mentioned is another option that is installed behind one of the interconnected line voltage detectors.
