I saw in a video where folks could enter advanced settings in installer mode on an IQ4 using either 1111 or 2222 as the user code, I did this initially to setup my sensors. After i created a user code for myself, if I now enter that code to get into the advanced settings menu I get to screen with most but not all the options available in installer mode. Installer mode remains availble if I enter 1111 or 2222.
Do I need to remove or change the installer mode codes ? ie. can the simple 1111 or 2222 code be used by anyone to disable the alarm if it is tripped ?
The Following Codes are the defaults for the Qolsys panel:
Dealer: 2222
Installer: 1111
Master User: 1234
The Dealer and Installer Codes can access Installer Programming. Anyone with those codes can access Installation at the panel.
You can change these codes locally by navigating to Settings > Advanced Settings > User Management. The highest level (Dealer) has the ability to change all of the other codes below it in the list above. You will want to change these codes to something more memorable and personal.
You otherwise cannot remove the Dealer and Installer codes.
Please confirm that the Dealer and Installer codes cannot be used by anyone to disarm a panel was set with any other code ie my master code or user codes I assigned.
