HW 5819whs - GC3 Programming

Hey,

I’m curious if anyone could advise me on proper way to program a honeywell 5819whs to a GC3? The sensor was pre-installed on a house I just bought, and from my understanding, it is a normal door sensor plus it has a shock sensor in case someone attempted to smash the door’s window.

When I set the GC3 to learn during programming, it captured the sensor and set it to loop 3. When I tested the door open/close function, it would trigger it open, but then not when it was closed. I changed the install setting to loop 2, and the door open/close function works properly now. I’m wondering if that is it? Or do I need to program 2 wireless zones for the single sensor, one for shock and one for door open/close?

Also, can someone confirm for me from the pics attached that this is the 5819whs, and not the 5819? It is glued to the door, so I can’t access the model number on the back.

Thanks!

Looks like I’ve got it figured out. Loop 2 for door open/close. Separate wireless zone for shock sensor set on loop 1.

Yes. For Honeywell and 2GIG systems, Loops are used to distinguish between sensor functions. Typically if a sensor has multiple functions you will learn in a zone for each function with the same serial number on a different Loop.

In this case, yes, Loop 1 for the shock sensor, Loop 2 for the reed switch.

Looks like it has the shock sensor wired in. The 5819 does not. That would be the WHS.
