How to troubleshoot your Wi-Fi device

These steps can be taken when your Wi-Fi device is having issues communicating with alarm.com. The cause could be your internet providers firewall not allowing the device to communicate properly with alarm.com.

  1. Try checking your router for any firewall settings that can be enabled. Try disabling the firewall rules and seeing if there are any changes to your devices.
  2. Try rebooting your modem and router by powering them down for at leat 30 seconds then powering back on.
  3. You can try using an older router you may have or use the mobile hotspot from your phone to test the device.
