How To Set up a LiftMaster/Chamberlain Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener

Troubleshooting

  1. If the device has already been registered with the MyQ app make sure to delete the device from the LiftMaster MyQ website.
    • After removing the device be sure to wait at least ten minutes then actuate the garage door wall control two times in a row before moving on.
  2. If the garage door opener cannot enter Wi-Fi Learn Mode, go through a full open and close cycle after the initial installation.
  3. If there is no Wi-Fi signal in the garage:
    • On setup.myqdevice.com, select Erase Wi-Fi before scanning for the network. Wi-Fi settings can also be erased by pressing and holding the black adjustment button until three beeps are heard (approximately six seconds).
  • Move the wireless router closer to the garage.
  • Purchase a Wi-Fi Range Extender.
  • Install a MyQ Internet Gateway (828LM) to communicate with the garage door opener from the router.
  1. If attempting to install the garage door opener using an iOS device, verify that Wi-Fi Assist is disabled. For more information, refer to Apple’s About Wi-Fi Assist support article.
