Hello everyone. I recently moved to a new home with a pre-existing alarm system. The panel is a 2GIG Go!Control with an additional TS1 Touch Screen Keypad. The 2GIG system was installed by CPI security and it seems to be locked. I tried doing a hard reset by unplugging the AC adapter and battery and holding the + and -. While this defaulted the master code to 1111, the installer code did not default to 1561. So now I am at a loss. I would really like to activate the alarm with suretyDIY, but I am unsure where to go from here. Prior to doing the reset, the alarm at least worked without central monitoring. Once I did the hard reset, it looks like all the sensors were removed and probably need to be reprogrammed.
Should I buy a brand new panel or is there a way to unlock this panel? Also, I currently own a Qolsys system from my previous home and was wondering if the 2GIG system is better or if the Qolsys system is better. I would prefer the 2GIG because all the sensors are already installed around the house.
By the way, I checked my ADC number online and received the following message: “Sorry, your Alarm.com cellular module ############ can not currently be used with a new Alarm.com account. It is already registered with an Alarm.com provider.” Not sure if this means I need to get a new panel.
By the way, the cellular card inside the panel says 2GIG-GCCDMV-A which I think means this is a CDMA Verizon card. I also noticed online that a new one says it requires firmware 1.9.4 or higher. Unfortunately, I don’t know what firmware I have. Inside the panel it says v1.9.2. But I am not sure if the panel was ever upgraded.

It sounds like the account that was using your module ID with the original provider/installer is still active. This would mean either the Alarm.com account would need to be deleted, or you would need a new module, but no, it should not require a new panel.
For info on how to get started with an existing 2GIG system, this page goes over all the steps you may need. When activating a 2GIG panel with our service, we unlock installer programming and the installer code for you. Those changes take place within 20 minutes of connecting.

Verizon Modules actually require 1.9.5 at the bare minimum, and would not function without at least that firmware version, so the panel will have at least that. You can check the firmware on the panel. See this video for steps.
Thanks for the reply. One question regarding the firmware… In the event that I don’t have the right firmware, the update seems relatively easy from a you tube video I saw as long as I have the 2gig cable. However, can I update the firmware without the installer code? I didn’t see the code as necessary from the video, but wanted to double check.
I went ahead and purchased a new cell module. I just signed up for an account on SuretyDIY. Would you mind resetting my installer code now? The ADC number should be under my username. Also, is there a way to push back into my system the original programming for my sensors? They were all deleted when I hard reset the panel. That would save me a lot of time.
The installer code is reset in an initial command template once the panel communicates with our back end service. If you just ordered service, you will receive a welcome email once your account is ready to go which will provide the steps to get connected as well as login credentials for Alarm.com.
Also, is there a way to push back into my system the original programming for my sensors?
If a panel has never communicated with our service, we would not have a backup of sensor config. Unfortunately this would need to be done manually.
Thank you for your help… I have reprogrammed all my settings. One last bit of help that I need… I can’t seem to logon to Alarm.com. I used the username and password that I received via the panel email and it did not work. I suspect that the issue lies with the fact that I already had an Alarm.com account with the same email address from a previous provider. Please let me know what I can do to link my new account with my old user name. Thanks in advance for your help.
You should have received a Welcome email with detailed instructions on how to finalize your account set-up. In that email should be new login credentials for your new Alarm.com account.
If you cannot find the email or if you are still having trouble, please contact customerservice@suretyDIY.com and they can help you out!
