I am trying to learn all of the existing sensors from the old security setup.
Whenever, I set my IQP4 to “auto learn” mode, a sensor is detected almost immediately. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out what this sensor is? Is there a way to look up sensor information based on ID?
If you are learning in a PowerG sensor, the first 3 digits of the 7 digit DLID will tell you the model of sensor it is.
For anything else, no you wouldn’t be able to narrow it down that way. You may be able to cross-reference programming on the existing system.
Somewhat often this kind of issue is caused by one of two things:
Motion detector within view of the panel. If you have motion detectors and you are within the field of view of one or walk by one when programming, this can occur. I recommend pairing all motion detectors you will walk by first before other zones to get those out of the way.
A neighbor’s sensor. If a neighbor has a compatible sensor being tripped sometimes your panel can pick that up.
You may want to use the panel on battery power and disable power management in Installer Settings, then bring the panel to each sensor location. This can reduce the likelihood of picking up unwanted signals when pairing.
