I need help connecting the IQ PowerG Door Lock to the iq5 hub. I have tried everything. Please give me step by step instructions on how to get it connected.
Here are step-by-step instructions to connect your IQ PowerG Door Lock to your IQ5 Hub.
Before you start
Make sure the lock is fully installed on the door, with the thumb turn working smoothly, and that it has fresh AA batteries.
Option 1: Auto Learn (recommended)
- On the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and tap Settings > Advanced Settings, then enter your Installer Code (default 1111).
- Tap Installation > Devices > Automation > Auto Learn Devices. Make sure you’re in the Automation menu, not Security Sensors.
- On the lock, remove the batteries and put them back in. The lock will beep and the LED will flash.
- When the panel finds the lock, tap OK and confirm the Sensor ID matches the ID on the lock’s label.
- Leave the PIN code field blank. An incorrect PIN will keep the lock from pairing.
- Tap Pair.
If the panel doesn’t find the lock, use a pointed tool to press the reset button twice quickly. It’s in the battery compartment. Keep pressing until the panel beeps, which starts enrollment.
Option 2: Add PowerG (manual)
- Go to Installation > Devices > Automation > Add PowerG.
- Enter the Sensor ID from the lock’s label, or scan the QR code on the box.
- Leave the PIN blank and tap Pair.
- Remove and reinsert the lock’s batteries.
If it still won’t connect
- Delete any existing entry for the lock from the panel.
- Factory reset the lock: remove the battery cover, then use a pointed tool to press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds until you hear a long beep. The latch bolt will extend.
- Try Option 1 again.
Once it’s paired, check the signal under Settings > Advanced Settings > System Tests > PowerG Test, then tap Run next to the lock. The lock needs a strong signal to work properly.
