Honeywell window sensor is online, battery healthy, but not detecting when open

I recently switched from ADT, and am reusing my Honeywell 5816 wireless sensors with a new Qolsys IQ2+.

I have 7 window/door sensors, and had no trouble setting them up… all except one of them. One of them is in the system, but is always set to active even if I open the window. I have removed it and added it back a few times. Each time it acts like the sensor is fine (and the Qolsys said the battery was fine - I don’t know if there are false positives there).

Any advice for troubleshooting/fixing it? I’m also open to just getting a new sensor.

What is the name of the window sensor causing the trouble? I’d like to check programming for that zone in Alarm.com.

Are you saying that the sensor is reporting Open all the time? I’m not 100% I know what you mean by “Active even if I open the window”

Right after learning in a sensor or rebooting the panel, all sensors will be assumed to be working normally and have no troubles. Only later when the sensor sends a normal activity signal or supervision signal (or doesn’t send a supervision signal) does the panel know the true status.

It’s our “kitchen window” sensor. I am saying that it’s closed all the time, and even after opening the window, the sensor still registers as closed.

Thanks! Let me know if you need more info.

Is that sensor just using the built in magnetic reed switch or a wired sensor input? Can you post a photo of that sensor in its installed and closed position on the window?

Built-in magnetic reed switch.

Shoot: not sure why the pic is sideways.

Can you confirm the TXID on that sensor? It will be printed on a sticker on the inside of the sensor. 7-digit number

045-4219

Check your Kitchen Window sensor programming. It looks like there is a TXID mismatch. The zone is reporting a programmed value of 041-6347

Bingo. All fixed now - thanks!

When first seeing this up, I struggled a little with the set up wizard because it seemed to auto-populate the fields for the next sensor when I put the cover back on the previous sensor.

Happy to help!
