Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista is not arming remotely

Introduction

This guide will help you with your vista panel if you are able to see the panel status and arming state on the Alarm.com app but arming commands are not being executed by the panel

Check for open sensors(Doors/Windows)

The first thing to check is if you have any open sensors. If you are trying to arm the system remotely, the system will not automatically bypass your sensors. You will need to tell the system you want to bypass the sensors when arming your system. You will need to have the *23 Quick (Forced) Bypass setting enabled to allow bypassing sensors. Having this feature off on the panel can prevent the system from arming. By default, the setting is disabled on the panel.

Enable Quick (Forced) Bypass on the keypad

  1. Enter Installer Code + 800 to enter programming
  2. Press *23 to enter this section
  3. Press 1 to enable this setting. The system will now show you partition two. You can press 0 if you have Partition 2 enabled or press 1 to enable it. entering 10 means Partition 1 Enabled, Partition 2 Disabled.
  4. *99 to exit programming

Arm the system with a bypass command

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app
  2. In Security System, tap the green shield
  3. Tap on Force Bypass
  4. Select either Arm (Stay) or Arm (Away)

Sync the Master Code

This must also be done if your master code is not set to default when adding the Alarm.com communicator to your system. To sync the master code on the panel with the master code on alarm.com, set them both to the default 1234. Once it is set to default, use the alarm.com app or website to change it to the desired code.

Set the master code on the panel

  • Using the Installer Code: Installer Code + 8 + 02 + New Master code
    • The keypad will confirm the code has been changed with a beep.
  • Using the Master Code: Current master code + 8 + 02 + New Master Code + New Master Code Again
    • The keypad will confirm the code has been changed with a beep.

Set the master code to default on alarm.com

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app
  2. Select on More
  3. Select Users
  4. Select Master Code User
  5. Select the code under the name
  6. Change code to 1234 and press save

Once the master code has been set to default on both the panel and alarm.com, wait a few minutes then change it on Alarm.com and it should change on the panel after a minute or two.

Check for firmware updates

If the system is still not arming remotely, send Surety a DM so we can check for any updates available on the Alarm.com Cellular Communicator as an older firmware version can have issues.
