Help resetting panel for a low battery signal

Hello,

I Need help resetting panel for a low battery signal so it doesn’t beep.

Happy to help!

What is the message that the panel relays? Low battery for a particular device or the panel itself?

I am seeing a malfunction for an upstairs smoke detector, is the device in question?
Have you tried replacing the batteries in this device already? When replacing the batteries you will want to remove the old batteries and leave them out for about two minutes before replacing the batteries and remounting the smoke detector.

Thanks Tyler. Leaving batteries out for 2 minutes helped, and panel alert dissapeared. After 4 hours new alert shoed up with the message about smoke alarm malfunction, smoke alarm not reporting to the panel. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Goran

Was the low battery alert regarding the same smoke detector?

What is the make/model of the smoke detector?

What about the age of the smoke detector? Typically, there is a Use By/replace by date printed on the unit. What is this date?

Yes, low battery alert was regarding the same unit. It is model 2GIG-SMKT2-345. There is only one date 04 Jun 2011 by does not say replace by. It could be manufacture date, I don’t know.

If it is an SMKT2, then the lifespan on it is 5 years. That model is no longer produced. A manufacture date in 2011 would put it well beyond end of life for that specific model.

If that is indeed the SMKT2, I would recommend swapping to an SMKT3, you should never try to use a smoke detector beyond its manufacturer’s stated end of life.

The SMKT3 has a 10 year life-span rather than a 5 as well.

Thank you!
