I received a low battery warning from one of my glass break sensors. I opened it (which set off a tamper alert at the panel), removed the dead battery and replaced with a fresh one, then closed it.
I pressed # on the panel and the tamper alarm turned off but I was still getting a sensor malfunction.
I re-opened the sensor, removed the fresh battery and reinstalled it. I’m still getting a malfunction. The ADC app says: “Malfunction (Vestibule Glassbreak) indicates that this sensor is unable to send signals to your security panel and may not trigger an alarm or signal for help in an emergency.”
Is there something I need to do to “reset” the sensor after battery replacement?
If you press * on the keypad now, does the system still show a trouble condition with that sensor?
If the trouble condition is only showing up in Alarm.com, I can dismiss it from our end, which will clear it from ADC. Please let me know if you’d like us to do so.
The panel still shows the error, too: “Check 41 Glass Break Vestibule.”
Until I replaced the battery, it was connected just fine (I think). I did verify the battery voltage, too. Looks good (a full 1V higher than the dead battery I replaced).
