In terms of geofencing, how well does that work with an iPhone. Can the 2GIG panel detect when you are nearing the house to disarm the alarm automatically?

The phone does not matter so much as the network it is on. Geoservices uses cell tower triangulation, not GPS. Automation rules would require GPS always on, chewing through phone battery, so it is not desirable.
You can’t initiate security based rules with geoservices.
