The specs don’t make it clear how the SP1 receives power. Is it like the GC3 itself via low voltage wires, or is it via a barrel connector. If the latter, is anyone aware of an easy way to cut the included adapter to extend? I’ve done it before, but I’ve found that those little wires in the power adapter cable are very thin and hard to work with.

The SP1 comes with the same style 14VDC transformer as the GC3 panel. It has both a terminal block and a barrel connector inside.
Any news of when the SP1 will be available for purchase?

The SP1 uses the same voltage transformer, but no, you should never connect a single transformer to both the GC3 and SP1. They each come with their own transformer.
