I’ve got a gocontrol gc-tbz48 thermostat that was on our old zwave network that we no longer have. I’m wanting to add it to my 2gig alarm panel but can’t because the thermostat is still showing the old network in it. Does anyone know how to reset the thermostat or remove the old network from it? Any help is appreciated.
Have you tried removing the z-wave Tstat? On your GC2 panel go to services->z-wave-> click the wrench icon and enter your installer code. Then click remove devices. On the gc-tbz48 hold the fan button down for 5 seconds to enter “setup” mode. Scroll to z-wave with the arrow keys and press the Menu/Select button. This should un-enroll the gc-tbz48 from the old network so that you can add it to the new one.
To add, simply follow the same steps as above but enter add devices mode on the panel instead of remove.
It’s not on my 2gig panel. I’m trying to add it to my panel but the thermostat itself has a node and home network in it and it needs to be removed. But since I no longer have that network I’m not sure how to remove it from the thermostat.
Any Zwave controller can remove a device’s network link.
You do not need to use the original controller.
When I enter into the thermostat remove screen and click select it goes through the motions and then says failed
Out of nowhere after trying like 100 times it worked. Thank you guys for the help. Very much appreciated.
How far is your thermostat from the 2GIG panel?
Is the Tstat running on battery only?
The thermostat should be fairly close to the panel when learning/removing.
Steps would be:
Bring the two within about 10 feet. (panel can just run on battery and brought to tstat)
On Panel: Services - Z-wave - Wrench Icon - Installer Code - Remove Device.
Then on Tstat: Perform the pair procedure.
EDIT: Well, glad it worked Distance can often be a factor. Also, if the batteries are low that may affect it as well.
Ya when it worked I was holding the thermostat and i was right in front of my panel. Also had new batteries in it. However on the wall its transformer powered. Thanks again. Really appreciate the help.
No problem! Happy to help!
