I would like to know what sensors to use on my garage doors just to let me know if they are open or shut ?

Tilt sensors can be used to determine the status of a roll up garage door based on whether the sensor is in a vertical or horizontal orientation.

We dont recommend them to be used as a security sensor to trigger an alarm as they can be prone to false triggers when the garage door sections move due to wind, etc. but they are good when you just want to know status.
