I currently don’t have any automation in regard to my garage door opener. My opener took a dump today and I’m on the search for a replacement.

I have a Qolsys IQ panel on ADC. From my searching I found that I need a Liftmaster with MyQ. So my question is…
In addition to the MyQ opener; do I also need a MyQ Internet gateway or can the opener directly talk to the IQ panel?

Also, can I buy a Chamberlain or does the system have to be Liftmaster?

You will still need an 828LM Internet gateway. Sometimes you can get garage door packages that include it. Chamberlain should work but I recommend getting the gateway that matches your opener just in case.
