Garage Door & AI Cameras?

  1. I’d like to add a Liftmaster Garage door that uses MyQ to my system. How can I do so? The option to add the device is not shown.

  2. Also, my cameras have built in AI but don’t seem to alert me of vehicles or people as of now. Is there something I’m missing?

To add a MyQ device, log into the Alarm.com website and navigate to Settings > Manage Devices > Add Device and select Garage. Do you see the option for Liftmaster MyQ there on the website?

I see you have a VDB723 which is compatible with Video Analytics, however you do not have a plan that includes analytics. Video Analytics is a feature of the Surety Complete and Protect plans.

Complete would be the plan you would want, which includes automation such as MyQ garage.

Without Video Analytics, you are using the basic VMD rules which do not differentiate objects or use camera analytics for detection.

You can update your plan at any time in the system manager here.

Thank you! I upgraded to Complete.

I am still having issues connecting my garage door though.

It fails to add the device no matter which option I use.

“Registration was unsuccessful for this device”

Is there an alternate fix besides factory resetting my device? My garage was set up as an internet gateway on the MyQ app.

Nevermind. I figured it out! I had to remove the garage door opener from the MyQ app in order to use it with the Alarm.com app.

Yep, for MyQ Gateways they must be unregistered to add them through Alarm.com. Glad this is resolved for you!
