Freezer monitoring - Is PG9905 still best?

I’m working out the best way to monitor my two freezers. I’m interested in monitoring the door left open and also temp. I already have temps from local probes and displays, but would like to extend the temps to Qolsys. I do have other options like Control5 and Hubitat if doing it with Qolsys is prohibitive.

For the temp monitoring is it still best to use a PG9905 with probe? I was trying to find specs on that probe to see if its a 10k or not, but could not find anything. Assuming it’s a 10k I might have several probe options around the house already.

What does Surety recommend for freezer monitoring at this point in 2025?

The PG9905 would be the best option for freezer monitoring with a Qolsys panel.

You’d want to use the temperature probe for the PG9905, since it isn’t designed to experience the moisture intrusion that most freezers do. We don’t currently sell the temperature probe, but the model number for it is PGTemp-Probe.
