Flooded Condo Unit

Hello, had new A/C installed in January that came with Surety water turn off switch. Yesterday drain line became plugged and water leaked from A/C into condo unit flooding same despite water turn off switch. Now that drain line has been cleaned, switch turns off A/C five or six times before A/C is permitted to run normally. Is the switch defective and therefore should be replaced? Thanks.

To clarify, are you referring to something mounted on an AC drain line? We do not sell or support any products that are meant for that. What is the model number of the switch you are referring to?

Do you use Surety as your Alarm.com service provider? If so I could check your account for details on the devices connected to your alarm panel.

The A/C installer stated that the water sensor is a Surety product, but looking at it again, it is stamped DiversiTech. Not a Surety product? Thanks.

We provide monitoring and support for Alarm.com compatible panels. Supported automation devices, including the Z-wave water valves we support are listed in the page linked at the bottom of this post.

The water valves in the list are whole home water meters/valves. None of the supported devices attach to A/C drain lines, that would be a separate product. If it is something like a float switch with a contact closure output it could be monitored on a Surety compatible alarm system, but we do not manufacture any products.

Googling Diversitech AC Drain Switch leads to some switches with “Asurity” written on the label, which likely is the source of the confusion.

Correct. It’s Asurity as opposed to Surety. Sorry for the misinformation.

No worries, thank you for confirming!
