Hello, I read some old posts but the devices they reference are not current, at least so far in my search.
I would like a reliable flood sensor for an IQ2 panel. I saw one on the Surety store but the directions to hook it to the network do not match what I see on my base. They reference “autolearn.” I don’t have that option.
I am not wed to any brand, etc. I simply want a device that I can program into the IQ2 and that actually works. I tried an EcoLink Z wave device and it was able to join the panel but the panel did not recognize any signal when the water alarm is sensored.
Even though they may pair with the panel, Z-Wave sensors are not compatible with Alarm.com,
Based on the panel on file, you would need either a PowerG or a 319.5MHz flood sensor. Either of the following would work:
Auto-Learn is a function available when programming on your panel. When navigating to panel programming, ensure you are using the Dealer (default 2222) or Installer (default 1111) code. Master User does not allow for panel programming.
If you have misplaced your Installer Code, this can be changed remotely via System Manager in your Surety login.
Correct. However, based on the panel connected to service, associated with this login, you have an IQ Panel 2+ as your panel is reporting both a 319.5MHz radio and a PowerG radio. The older IQ Panel 2 is not compatible with PowerG.
Well, I need to learn to speak this language a bit better. I was just speaking Z wave up until now. I couldn’t find a model number, I took what it said on the back of the device and it just had a 2 without a plus, but then it listed some “may have…” and perhaps that is where the Power G comes into the label. You are right. I did a daughter card test and it appears I have 3 ways to connect devices. Thanks.
Hi Tyler, I was trying to call someone but they have sure hidden the phone number. I got the cheaper flood sensor and it works great. Now, I would like to configure the alarm so my flood sensors do not go to the central monitoring people, just to me and whoever I designate. Can I do that?
Support through Surety is online only, we are unable to provide support over the phone.
Youll want to set that sensor to Group 25 Water non-reporting. You will get a notification at the panel but nothing will be sent to the monitoring station. You can create a notification in Alarm.com to be alerted via Push/Email when triggered as well.
