Firmware 1.5.3

Fyi this exists. I tried patchtag systest153 to see if it would give me anything, and it did. I’m now on 1.5.3. The date of 2/6/2016 was in the filename of the downloaded update.

This partially broke the relationship between the iq and my iq2 (fixed now, too long to type out process now). I have not noticed any improvement or change in available options.

I would not recommend trying additional firmware versions above the automatic updater version unless specific fixes are sought.

Just received 1.5.3 …
Weird to see the change to the UI.
All White/Grey now.
Different.
On the status screen, somewhat hard to see the headings.
All good so far.

Not seeing that. Applied 1.5.3 and UI is identical to 1.5.2 (I think anyway, nothing jumps out). What does your software version report exactly, just to make sure (under ‘about’ section).

What was your previous version?

Hi. Was referring to the difference between 1.4.3 and 1.5.3.
Totally new color scheme and main screen.

Gotcha. Been using 1.5 versions a while now so I am used to the new scheme.

Does anybody have release notes on 1.5.3

Right here.

Is 1.5.3 out to everyone or do we have to use the patch tag?

I had forgotten myself and wanted to verify, but you should not need to enter a patch tag in for 1.5.3.

Patch tags are required for anything other than the latest available IQ download.

Hello,

After I upgraded to version 1.5.3 (like Sixto above), I no longer have any light on the lower buttons. They turn red during the boot cycle, but then they are off. Should they be green after the boot completes (as mentioned in the release notes)?

Thanks.

After 1.5.3 the Emergency and Home buttons should still stay lit up green (after the reboot process). Do you have full functionality of the panel after the firmware update?

I would try rebooting the panel if you haven’t already (after the firmware updates initial reboot)

Select settings->Panel Reboot.

Yes, I did do a manual reboot a couple of times. The buttons turn red while the display shows the Qolsys logo, but when the main screen comes up, the buttons go dark.

Should I try to power it down?

Can you try going to Settings - System Tests - Panel Test? Scroll down to “LED Red/Green” and press Run.

Do the buttons LEDs light during the test and does the test pass?

Yes, I just ran that test and the buttons turned red and then green. The test result did show as “PASS”. Then, when I clicked the arrow to leave the test screen, they went dark again.

There are no settings which would turn off the LEDs to my knowledge. If the panel reboot does not resolve this, then a factory default may be tried, although whether or not to go ahead and default the panel would be dependent on how much this issue impacts your usage.

You may also want to wait and see if subsequent firmware resolves the issue.

Are there any other power related issues currently? Have you noticed low battery alerts, AC loss, panel OS slowdowns, etc.?

Is the panel under warranty from the seller?

Like others, my lower red/green LEDs don’t have the same functionality as before this firmware update. Now, the lower LEDs are off when the system is disarmed and are green when it is armed. Could there be a Frontpoint variant of the firmware that is furthering their monochromatic green theme?

We can forward any concerns on this to Qolsys and follow up to see if they have an update on possible cause.

Could there be a Frontpoint variant of the firmware that is furthering their monochromatic green theme?

We would be unable to address any possible variant firmware versions for other providers. You would want to contact your provider to verify whether this may be the case. I suppose it may be possible though.

Have you noticed any other differences?

The only other difference I noticed was the change in the UI. It changed to almost all grey. Some of the other screens look a little different. I don’t know what firmware version I was on before this update, so I can’t speak to that.

I haven’t gone into too much of the panel since the push since I usually use the app for most functionality. I think the Armed Away and Armed Stay indicators changed to match those in the Frontpoint app as opposed to those in the ADC app. I need to check that when I get home. If they match FP, the green LED for armed may point to a provider variant.

Same here with 1.5.3, the buttons no longer light up.

I also miss having the color bar at the top showing the current status.

Also noticed on 1.5.3 that you can no longer arm the alarm with a door open, without bypassing the door (which I don’t want). You get a message to close the door or bypass the door, you can not arm, then shut the door as you’re leaving, and have the door protected.
