FireFighter not triggering alarm

I bought a FireFighter audible smoke alarm detector (SLX-AD-T3) to connect my existing smoke alarms to an IQ panel.

When I place it next to my older wired smoke detector and test it, it works and triggers a fire alarm on the panel.

When I place it next to a newer(ish) smoke detector and test it, it does not. They are both beep+voice models. They both give off the classic 3-long-beep pattern that sounds the same to me.

The FireFighter seems to detect beeps from both models, as evidenced by an LED lighting up in time with the beeps. But only one of the smoke detectors triggers an alarm on the panel.

The smoke model that does not work is Wire-Free Interconnected Battery Powered Smoke Alarm P4010DCS-W | Kidde. It’s UL-rated, so should work based on the specs.

Any ideas or advice?

Smoke detectors that use a voice during alarms can cause issues with the FireFighter in some instances due to the way it triggers an alarm

The FireFighter smoke alarm audio detector requires 3 separate sets of the temporal 3 (T3) sound pattern. The device listens for the first two sets and triggers an alarm on the first beep of the third set. If too much time passes between each set of beeps, the audio detector will reset, start counting from the beginning, and won’t be able to trigger an alarm.

Is there any difference between the two detectors in terms of when voice comes on, the amount of time the voice is active for, what the voice says, or the amount of time between each set of beeps?
