Fire Alarm and possible fault with Smoke/Heat Detector

Hi, This all started in the middle of the night (of course!), the remote panel started a double beep warning every ten seconds or so and a voice message one of our Smoke/Heat detectors malfunctioned. This morning I’ve checked the batteries (1.45V) and decided they were a bit low, changed them out with fresh AAA batteries (1.6V+), hit the test button and unfortunately this triggered a fire alarm which I canceled but the fire service came out anyway. Now I still have the double beep going on with my panels. It’s not happy about something. Thank you, Colin.

Not sure this is the route cause, seems I had multiple devices failing in one part of the house. A signal extender had been unplugged by the cleaner! Reconnecting that seems to have recovered the devices and stopped the beeping on my panels. I may still have an issue with that heat / smoke detector but we’ll try it with new batteries and see.

Currently, all smoke detectors are reporting as normal. You do however have a takeover module in trouble. This can be caused if it is not closed or if you are not using a siren and do not have a 1K resistor across the bell terminals.

I’ve been working through the issues this afternoon and think all is ok for now except for my translator box & legacy device that has always struggled. That probably had a siren at some point, but never connected to the translator. Honestly, I’m probably just going to get rid of all the old wired devices and the translator completely - replace with PowerG devices. Thank you.
