False Alarm- Tilt Sensor help?

Has the below scenario played out for anyone else?

It’s 3:00am, you’re sound asleep… when suddenly BEEP BEEP BEEP your alarm goes off. You check alarm.com app and it shows an alarm triggered by a tilt sensor you have on your garage door (tilt door not regular door).

You disable the alarm, re-arm and go back to bed… An hour later BAM same thing.

Any ideas as to why I continually get false alarms from my tilt sensor? I was thinking wind, but most times this occurs there is no wind.

This has happened over 8 times in the past 6 months and it’s making me lose confidence in my system with all the false alarms.

Thanks all.

We do not recommend using a Tilt sensor as an alarm generating sensor.

Tilt sensors should generally be programmed as notification sensors only. For information on options to monitor your garage see this page.

In general, make sure that the tilt sensor is installed properly. For the model you mention, it should be installed horizontally on the door with the arrow on the casing facing down. Please post a photo of the sensor as it is mounted. That might provide more details here.
