Alarm.com video users can now set exit delays, ranging from one to thirty minutes, for Remote Video Monitoring (RVM) and Video Analytics recording rules to prevent false alarms and improve the overall experience.
Previously, when users exited their property after arming their panels, cameras in areas like the garage or driveway might have captured their movement, triggering a false alert. With the new Video Rule Exit Delay, users can give themselves a buffer in which to leave their property without triggering their RVM or Video Analytics rules.
These exit delays can be applied to standard recording rules or used alongside RVM Services to prevent false alarms from being sent to monitoring stations. Video Rule Exit Delays can be set up in seconds from the Recording Rules page, available only when an “except when” panel condition is applied to a rule.
