Existing Sump Pump Alarm

We have an existing sump pump controller that is used to monitor sump level and alternate the two pumps in the sump basin. The controller also has a no/nc relay to signal pump failure, high level alarm, power outage/etc to alarm system.

Is there an easy way to send the no/nc signal to IQ 2 plus panel fo awareness of sump issues?

Yes, if you have a NC output you can connect that to a sensor with a wired input. You can program that sensor in as a group 25 sensor which can be used for Alarm.com notifications.

An example sensor would be the IQ Extended door/window if you have the standard 319.5 mhz version of the IQ panel.

I’m about to do the same as described here.

I have a sump pump controller that supports alarm output. It’s a RJ11 jack and the middle two wires control the signal. Normally open, but closed when an alarm happens such as failed sump pump.

I could go with the sensor described above, but I’m thinking that there are now newer sensors such as the PowerG+ PGP9945E.

If I went with the latest sensor that supports this capability on the IQ4, is that the PGP9945E? any other PowerG options?

Thanks!

The PGP9945E is the newest similar model in the PowerG+ line. It has an aux input which can be used. The PG9945 is the older standard PowerG model.

Either of the PowerG options can use the aux input configured as normally open.

Perfect. I just got the new sump pump controller (Ion+ Connect WiFi) so I need to set that up first, then will try this.

Thanks Jason!
