I’m running into difficulties installing my Ecolink garage door controller. The device I believe completes the Zwave inclusion as it beeps and glows green for about 3 seconds. The device immediately the glows red. I can see the device in the ADC app but it appears offline? I can’t also control my garage door wirelessly but I’m unsure if that is because of the potential Zwave issues. I know if I cannot control It wirelessly to use the garadget but not sure if my issues is the potential Zwave network problems.
I have resolved the red light & offline issue you have to sync the tilt sensor once installed which is not in the instruction manual. So I have it reporting in ADC now but can’t control it wirelessly looks like I will have to go with a garadget.

The Ecolink GDZW7-ECO can work with LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 openers, but compatibility with newer MyQ openers can vary. Since your Ecolink is already reporting the garage door status correctly in Alarm.com, we can focus on the remote control pairing.
Please try the following steps to pair its wireless control with the LiftMaster:
- Unplug the garage door opener from the 120 VAC outlet.
- Plug the garage door opener back in.
- On the Ecolink, press and hold the HUB button for about 2 seconds to switch between Security+ 2.0 and Security+ modes. For Security+ 2.0 mode, the Ecolink should beep twice and the Status LED should blink twice.
- Press the Learn/Program button on the back of the LiftMaster motor to put it into pairing mode. The opener’s status LED should indicate that it is ready to pair.
- On the Ecolink, press and hold the TILT button for about 2 seconds. The Ecolink should beep twice and transmit the pairing signal to the LiftMaster.
- Check that the LiftMaster’s status LED is no longer indicating pairing mode.
- To test the pairing, press and hold the Ecolink’s TILT button again for about 2 seconds. If the pairing was successful, the garage door should begin to move.
If the Ecolink continues to report the garage door status correctly but the LiftMaster does not respond to the wireless open/close command after these steps, please let us know. We can then look at the Garadget adapter as an alternative.

I have followed the steps and when I attempt to pair the Ecolink with the opener using the pairing button the Ecolink beeps and admits a clicking noise but the pairing light on the opener stays lit. When I test with the tilt button the door does not move.

Since the Ecolink is beeping and attempting to pair, but the pairing indicator on the LiftMaster remains lit and the garage door does not respond when testing the Ecolink, it appears that the wireless pairing between the Ecolink and your LiftMaster is not completing successfully.
Since the Ecolink is reporting the garage door status correctly in Alarm.com, but the wireless Security+ 2.0 pairing is not completing successfully with your LiftMaster, the next option would be to use a Garadget Security+ 2.0 Wired Dry Contact Adapter.
The Garadget adapter connects to the Ecolink’s relay output and provides the Security+ 2.0 control needed to operate the LiftMaster. Surety does not carry the Garadget adapter, so it would need to be purchased directly from Garadget.
If you have the Garadget already, the basic wiring setup is as follows:
- Disconnect power from the garage door opener before beginning the installation.
- Install the Garadget adapter near the LiftMaster opener. The adapter’s red and white wires connect to the corresponding terminals on the garage door opener. The existing wall-button wires can remain connected as well.
- The adapter has two additional bronze-colored wires for the dry-contact connection. Connect these two wires to the relay output terminals on the Ecolink GDZW7-ECO. The polarity does not matter for these two wires.
- Make sure the Ecolink relay is configured to provide an isolated, normally-open momentary dry contact.
- Once the wiring is complete, restore power to the garage door opener and test the existing wall button first to make sure it continues to operate normally.
- Then test the garage door control through Alarm.com.
The Garadget adapter essentially acts as a Security+ 2.0 wall button, while the Ecolink relay provides the momentary contact needed to activate it. We recommend this setup if the Ecolink’s built-in wireless Security+ 2.0 control does not work with a LiftMaster/Chamberlain opener.

how do you perform step 4 in your instructions? Im assuming you just connect the bronze wires to the relay output on the Ecolink?
Garadget specifically says not to extend the bronze wires so I was going to wire it directly to the Ecolink and use the provided wire from Ecolink to extend the power side of the garadget.

Yes, that is correct. The two bronze-colored wires from the Garadget adapter should connect directly to the relay output terminals on the Ecolink. The polarity does not matter for these two wires.
Garadget specifically advises not to extend the bronze wires, so connecting them directly to the Ecolink relay is the appropriate setup. If additional length is needed for the Garadget’s power connection, the red and white wires are the ones that can be extended.
Please make sure the garage door opener is powered off while making the wiring connections, then restore power and test the existing wall button before testing the garage-door control through Alarm.com.

What do you mean by step 4. The only thing I can connect to the Ecolink relay output is the wiring from the Gradget. I don’t see any instructions to setup the Ecolink relay for normally open dry contact. I believe that is how the garadget is setup as I believe the wires are connected to the open contact on the button?
