Dw30 on GC2. Gate Status Supervision

Attempting to install 2GIG-DW30-345 on 2GIG GC2, firmware 1.19.3.1. Panel will not accept Equip Code 2865 and reverts to 0000. I have successfully used an older version of the DW30 for some years but is now getting flakey. have tried Equip. Code 0637 but all is not well. DW30 (North Gate) shows up on panel and Alarm .Com. Panel now states Loss of Sensor Supervision. State changes do not occur using using magnetic interface and loop 2. Ultimately North Gate will use a type 23 and have been using it and type 01 for testing. No Tamper alerts have ever shown, in spite of tamper plunger position.

Equipment code 2865 is for the encrypted eseries version of the sensor. That version is only supported on eseries panels.

On a standard GC2, that equipment code cannot be used, and an eseries sensor won’t work.

Just to be sure, do you have the DW30-345 model or does your sensor show DW30e-345

All indications are it is DW30-345, with no e. The only outlier are the instructions that came with the sensor that say the Equip. Code is 2865. I used Equip. Code 0637 with old unit. All other indicators are DW30. The PC board in the new unit is not the same as the old, however it is etched with 2GIG-DW30-345.

I’ve updated some things on our end for that zone. Can you try triggering it again?

Just a follow up here, as I do have the new DE30 working. I am using it with an external magnetic switch wired to the NC terminals on the three terminal block inside the DW30. I think my issues in testing the unit, which was about 20 feet away from the panel for testing, was not being patient enough to see status changes. It is set for zone type 23 which I suspect may have a lower priority polling rate however I do not know this for a fact. Make sure you use equip. Code 0637 in spite of the instructions that come with the unit saying to use code 2865, which is the proper code for the “e” version. There is a different set of instructions for the “e” version if that works on your panel. I do not know if mine was an isolated case but when mounted flat against my gate post the tamper micro switch was not depressed enough. May need to shim a little with some Scotch 33. Also is you are using external contacts make sure you are using loop 1, loop 2 is for internal reed switch.

in spite of the instructions that come with the unit saying to use code 2865,

Thanks for bringing this up. Sounds like they have a copy paste misprint in the DW30 instructions.

Let us know if you have other questions. Glad to hear you got it working.
