DSC Ws9lcdwf9 low battery alert

One of my wireless sensors (panic) had a low battery which prompted an alert on the IQ panel and a trouble code on the DSC keypad. I’ve replaced the battery in the device and cleared the alert on the panel however the trouble code still remains on the DSC keypad. Is there anyway to clear it?
The same alert also remains in the ADC app.
May be coincidental but we’re hearing a chirp (not from the panel or the panic device or the DSC keypad) that’s extremely unpleasant.

I have sent some commands that may resolve the issue, please wait about 5 minutes for them to complete.

If no change, perform the following on the PowerG panic:

  • Remove the battery. Leave it out for at least 30 seconds
  • Ensure that the battery is new/fresh and within its printed date code (if applicable)
  • Insert the battery back in.
  • Reboot the alarm panel (Settings > Advanced Settings > Panel Reboot)

You may want to place your 24/7 monitoring account on test mode prior to working on the system, to avoid false dispatches. This can be done via the Professional Monitoring tab in the System Manager feature of your Surety account.

If none of those devices are chirping, its likely unrelated. Sounds like a life safety device with an issue, maybe a low battery.

No change in the app; I’m not able to check the DSC keypad fault at this time.
The panic button battery was replaced with fresh batteries and the old battery was removed for 15min while I ran to the store to buy the new battery.
Will reboot the panel if the alert still exists later this evening.

Update- issue still persists. Interestingly, I now have a low battery alert on the DSC keypad as well. I have replaced batteries now in the keypad and panic and rebooted the iq panel. No resolution. Any thoughts?

What is the panic device model number learned into zone 63? Its reporting as a PowerG device but model numbers do not come through.

Did you test this device after replacing the battery?

  • Make sure your account is on Test Mode when doing so to avoid false dispatches.

If the device works, and still reports a low battery. Remove it from programming, then re-add it. Any change?

The panic is a DSC PG9938. It’s about a year old so I was surprised to get the low battery alert. I believe I did purchase this unit from eBay so who knows how old the batteries were when I received it.

I removed the device and then relearned into the panel. I no longer have a low battery alert but I now have a “not networked “ fault. I’ve removed and relearned several times, each ending with the “not networked” issue. I don’t think I’ve encountered this before, and I have a number of wireless sensors. Thoughts?

As a side note, it turns out it was the IQ panel beeping. 3 short beeps every 30minutes. Even after I cleared the trouble code from the panel. Perhaps it was beeping due to the trouble code on the DSC keypad.

Not Networked means the device has not synced with the panel. This usually indicates an encryption key mismatch. Tampering the sensor, or pressing its enrollment button can sometimes resolve this.

If it doesn’t resolve, it is recommended to:

  • Delete from panel
  • Remove battery from sensor for 30 seconds, replace
  • Add back into panel via Auto Learn Mode

In the case of the Panic, you will need to test the sensor itself after enrolling it in (placing 24/7 on Test Mode again to avoid false dispatch).
