DSC HS2032 Hardwired Sensors with Qolsys IQ Panel 4

I recently purchased a home that had a preexisting system in place. The seller was very disorganized and did not have the panel codes and did not know much about anything that was in place. She used the alarm.com app to arm/disarm. I tried to work with the installer/prior alarm company but they are too busy to return my calls.

The system included DSC HS2032 panel hardwired to various door and window sensors, Qolsys IQ Panel 4, Luxul router, and Zuum NVR with some cameras connected to it.

Upon entering the home for the first time, after the prior owner had cancelled her alarm service, I found the panel armed. I tried various codes and set the alarm off multiple times. I ended up disconnecting power from the Qolsys panel for a few days until I got other utilities set up.

After setting up internet service, I changed the wifi ssid in the existing router. (Maybe part of the problem?)

I discovered Surety Home and signed up. I was able to add the IQ 4 and disarm it with the alarm.con app. I then changed the user codes and updated the wifi settings on the Qolsys panel. The panel automatically worked with the existing smart lock on the front door. I was also able to update the wifi settings for the front door alarm.com bell camera and that is now flowing through to alarm.com app.

I tried adding the NVR in the alarm.com app using its MAC address but no luck. I will revisit this later. Edit: I’ve learned this isn’t possible and I’ll have to use another app to access the cameras.

Now to my main issue: none of the door or window sensors in the home are working. In the alarm.com app, they are all shown and labeled by room(presumably from the prior setup on the panel) but they all show as malfunctioning. I feel that the Qolsys panel is not communicating with the dsc panel but I’m not.

Any hints or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the “DSC Panel” you are referring to is actually a IQ Hardwire-16 takeover module. If you remove the 4 screws holding the white plastic cover, you should see some flashing LED activity on that board. If not, you likely have a power issue.

My suspicion is that the Hardwire-16 is not getting power. That would take down all those wired sensors. It takes a 16v power supply of its own.

That’s a huge help. Will check and get back. Will be a few days. Thanks

Malfunction indicates the device(s) are not communicating with the alarm panel. The Hardwire 16 in the image may not be receiving power. The Hardwire 16s are powered by a 16V transformer and have a 12V backup battery.

If needed, more information on Installing the Hardwire 16 can be found in the guide below:

The 16v power supply was dead. Ordered a new one. Hopefully all issues resolved after replacement.

Make sure the specs of the one ordered match the one of the existing power supply. It should be DC not AC.
