Doorbell using DW mini-extended -S sensor

I connected a simple push button switch to a QS1137-840 sensor to function as a doorbell. It’s programmed as group 25; type: doorbell; name “Doorbell”; “Activity Monitoring” is active.

After saving it, I pressed the button and the panel chimed as expected. But, it wouldn’t work after that. If I delete the sensor and renter it, it works… once.

I checked the sensor status. before pressing the button it shows “Active”. After pressing the button it shows “Activated” bur never returns to “Active”.

If I bring the sensor magnet next to the sensor and then move it away the panel chimes. Its as if the wired terminals are not working.

Can’t figure out what’s gone wrong. Any suggestions?

That “Type: Doorbell” is for a specific doorbell button sensor QS1119-840 I believe. You can try changing it to door window type instead, still on sensor group 25. You can name it Doorbell still.

The caveat here is that a normal doorbell button is a push to make device. (Normally open)

The QS1137-840 assumes a normally closed input. That means that it would close temporarily when the button is pushed, then open when you let go of the button and remain open.

Made the changes and it works perfectly! thanks for the help.
