I installed an ADC Vb770 doorbell. It worked great for a day and then started having issues. I read some posts and found my transformer was under powered . Ordered and installed new transformer 24v 40VA . It resolved all issues, except when i push the button, the interior chime does not ring.
In addtion, when i measure the volts at the door, i am getting 40VA. Shouldnt it read no more than 24v
Looks like the chime resolved itself once the doorbell had its internal battery charged.
Glad to hear it resolved, and yes this is normal for the chime not to work until the battery charges up to a certain threshold. As long as the chime is rated for 24VAC it should be fine.
