So, I recently updated my IQ Panel 4 firmware to 4.6.2 (somehow it was many versions old… not sure why it wasn’t autoupdating). Anyway, after doing so, my doorbell (an ADC-VDB750, I believe) chimes changed and I can’t find a way to get it back to how it was.
Previously, when someone triggered the person motion alert the panel would give a short doorbell sound. If someone actually hit the button then my legacy mechanical chime would go off. Now, however, when a person is detected the panel gives the same chime as all my other door and window sensors, and when someone pushes the button the mechanical chime does not go off, instead the panel doorbell does. This is annoying because now it’s not possible to easily tell if the alert is a door being opened or if it’s a person identified. Additionally, the mechanical chime is in the middle of the house, so it’s audible everywhere… to do that from the panel would blast people’s eardrums in the living room.
I have “mechanical chime” selected in the doorbell settings, but it seems to be ignoring that, and I can’t find an option anywhere to change the tone for the person detection alert. Am I missing something? We’d like to get it back to how it was (but I want/need the newer firmware for Z-Wave LR).
