Door Shock Sensor

Hi,
I am curious if anyone has recommendations/experience with door shock sensors (not exactly sure what they might be called). I was looking at some that work on windows like this one, but wasn’t sure if this same thing would work on a door frame to detect an attempted breach. I already have recessed sensors that would trigger when the door actually opens, but i’d like a more “instant” trigger if someone tries to kick in/break down the door. Thoughts?

Shock sensors like the one you posted are designed for usage on glass, not wood or metal doors, and I wouldn’t advise trying to use them in a way they are not intended.

Typically a door is monitored for breach, not shock, although a glass pane in a door may be monitored using a shock sensor.

The closest I can think of that might have a shot of performing the way you want is something like the Honeywell 5819, a wireless door/window and shock sensor combo. It is still meant for glass frames, but from experience it is pretty sensitive to overall shock or disruption.

Is the Honeywell 5819 compatible with GC2? Thanks.

Yes, 5800 series honeywell sensors are compatible with the GC2. For the built in shock, it would be the 5819S.
