I searched the other forum topics and did not find anything that refers to what is how happening. With my IQP4001 with 4.5.2-ADCS 12.17.4, I have a door/window sensor that is randomly opening when the door is in fact closed. I’m standing at the door looking at it and the sensor will report open. This sets off the alarm when armed. It doesn’t report a tamper, just open. I changed the batteries and it still reports open, is my only next step to replace the sensor? Any other troubleshooting I can do?

I recommend checking to make sure the magnet is lined up properly, as some magnets are aligned with the top or bottom of the sensor instead of the center, and that the magnet is on the correct side of the sensor. The sensor should have a line or arrow on the side, which should line up with a similar line or arrow on the magnet when installed correctly.
Some sensors may still function with a misaligned magnet or with the magnet on the incorrect side, but it will reduce the maximum gap you can have, and the sensor may start to have issues as time goes on.
