On a sliding door I have a honeywell magnet sensor that goes into a takeover module. It seems like once a month the sensor sends an alert that its been trip though nothing has happened.
Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this? Could it be that it needs a new magnet?
I disabled monitoring on that sensor though I will probably set it up so that it will only alarm if the motion is also tripped.
There are a couple things I would check out first.
Make sure that all of the wired connections are solid and there isn’t any corrosion. The sensor may think that the door opened if the connection is loose and a vibration jars it a little.
Make sure there isn’t a short on any of the wires. This can be done with a multimeter to check for resistance on the wires.
