Is there a way to connect 2gig doorbell to 24V transformer without an actual door bell.
I would like doorbell button to light up, but don’t need two doorbells in the house.
In my understanding door bell button is a push switch wired in series with doorbell coils, in order for it to light up it needs these coils to complete the circuit. And if I connect 24v directly to 2gig button it will light up, but when button is pressed it will create a short and something will fry?
Yes, there should be a way of doing it electrically, as I think you would just need the right resistor to dissipate power, though that will depend on the transformer.
I’m not an expert in this case, but I think you would just need a load resistor rated for the wattage of the transformer.
