Does IQ4 have max no. of tries for disarm code?

Last night my daughter tripped the alarm by opening a sensored door, so the IQ4 panel started beeping. She tried to put in the correct code, presumably did not, so it kept beeping and eventually started to alarm. At this point my wife arrived to help and said that even putting in the correct code wouldn’t disarm it/quiet the alarm.
I was upstairs, heard the alarm, and disabled it with my phone.

So my Q is, did my daughter perhaps disable the panel by entering the wrong code too many times? Bc I’m sure my wife was putting in the correct code.

Just to confirm, did they actually see Invalid User Code reported on the panel? Did the panel announce “invalid user code, please re-enter code” each time?

I am curious if the code was invalid or if the screen was having input issues and wasn’t accepting input at all.

If you try to access your Settings > Advanced Settings menu and enter the master user code, does it accept the code?

Do you notice any issues with the button inputs being off when you do that?

If you are having general issues with inputs, try a reboot of the panel. Surety IQ Panel users can send a remote reboot command from our system manager here.

Hello, Jason. Thanks for quick response. Replies below.

Just to confirm, did they actually see Invalid User Code reported on the panel? YES Did the panel announce “invalid user code, please re-enter code ” each time? NO. There was/is no audible announcement.

I am curious if the code was invalid or if the screen was having input issues and wasn’t accepting input at all. Inputs were being taken, but the code just wasn’t working, says my wife. And I strongly suspect she used the correct code.

If you try to access your Settings > Advanced Settings menu and enter the master user code, does it accept the code? YES. No issues. And when I take the system thru a similar scenario to what happened, all works fine.

So to reiterate my initial Q, there is no panel disable feature that kicks in if the code is inputted wrong several times, correct? Just checking.

Thanks for the follow up, we just tested to make sure we describe it accurately, there is a lockout but there is a message displayed when it happens.

It has a 5 failure limit. After you fail on the fifth attempt you can no longer enter a code. The keypad will remain but be unresponsive.

It states “Too Many Invalid Attempts” on the screen under the timer with a separate 90 second countdown until you can try again. Once the panel is in alarm mode though you can immediately enter codes again.

Did they see that message on the panel?
