I bought my iq4 panel from the dealer and they installed. I’d like to add more sensors myself. How do I get them to give up the code or go around it?
You could try using the default Installer code(1111) or the default Dealer Code(2222). If none of these work, you could try calling your alarm company and have them change it to default remotely.
They don’t want to do that…
If you purchased the panel, you could try and argue that the panel is your property but even then sometimes they have it in writing in their contract that they can change the installer code to their liking.
What company is it? Usually we have common known codes for bigger known companies vs small local companies.
Did the default Dealer code not work to enter programming? Default dealer is 2222. You can check by swiping down from the main page, settings, advanced settings, and entering 2222.
The company is counter strike out of cape coral. They’re installing the iq4 panel in May. I have an old panel presently that they required I call any time I wanted to do anything. Hoping to do it different on this one.
I wasn’t able to find any type of code for that company. There is no other way to default the panel either as long as they have the panel registered to them.
It sounds like you want to DIY you system and you might be better off with a DIY dealer?
Thanks for the responses and the tips. I reached out to the sales rep today and said that since it’s my panel I’d like to control the installer code. He actually said no problem!
